Game Rules

June 13– August 13, 2011

  1. Signups begin Monday, June 6th. Please take only one game board per person for the summer. Write your name, the school you will attend in the fall, and the grade you are going into on the game board.
  2. For every 30 minutes that you read (or that someone reads to you), color in one passport stamp on your game board.
  3. Also, parents may use special activities to play the game with their pre-reader. A list of suggested activities is available on the library’s web site at http://summereadingame.wordpress.com. Cross off each activity completed and bring the list to the library to spin once for each activity.
  4. From June 13th through August 13th, when you come to the library, spin the dial once for each passport stamp you have colored in. Stamp the item shown on the spinner once on the gameboard.
  5. If you have stamped all the squares containing the same item and you spin that item again, then spin again until you land on an item you have not stamped. No lose-a-turns.
  6. When you have stamped a straight line either up and down, side to side, or diagonally (from corner to corner), you win the items listed under “First Prize”!
  7. Take your game board to the Information Desk to claim your prizes!
  8. Keep on playing until you have stamped the entire game board to claim your “Final Prizes”.

Congratulations!

We are so glad that you are playing
the game this summer!
Happy reading!
